Not while I was in. I may have been reproved in absentia as I just walked away. Haven't been dfd since I left.

Well done mate. It's amazing how much the jw life messes up your health. Many of us, myself included, have done like you and had improved health since leaving. I myself am on a quarter of the anti depressant dose I was just 18 months ago as a jw.
Here's to your very best of health!

Sneaky buggers put an invitation in my letter box. I've been waiting for them to come to my new house so I could very politely ask to be put on their do not call list with no elders coming around every year either. Then watch them go, "ummm..."

Eccentric Jehovah's Witnesses
by snowbird inso as not to hijack logcon's thread about crazy things jw's have said to householders, i'd like to start one about just plain old odd jw's.. for example, i knew this dear, dear senior brother who would carry a small bag of peanuts in one pocket of his suit coat and a small plastic bag of brown sugar in the other.. during that time, we would stay out all day long because the territory was extensive.. can't you just picture that precious soul alternately tossing a few peanuts/crumbs of sugar into his mouth as he schlepped from house to trailer, from trailer to house?.
the householders would usually offer us water, lemonade, kool-aid, or soda pops, so no problem with finding something to quench our thirsts.. those were the days!.

Well the jw religion does attract a lot of marginal people. Most of them are very nice but a little whacky.

Critique of Mar 2014 Awake on Creation by Alan Feuerbacher
by jwfacts inalan feuerbacher has written a tremendous critique of the march 2014 awake!, which contains a grossly dishonest discussion on creation.
the pdf file can be downloaded from awake_march_2014_creation_critique.pdf.
it highlights watchtower use of poor and contradictory reasoning..

This critique demonstrates just how far above the awake n wt true academic-style writing is.

A sister had a bowl of water on the floor at each of the four cardinal compass points in her house to apparently channel the earth's electromagnetic field to give her energy.
An old Ukrainian sister would suck lollies at the meeting, but would never have a whole one but suck it for a bit and then put it back into the jar for next time. Worst thing was, she'd offer them to other people.
A Filipina sister would always find some edible plant to graze on in householders' gardens, every time she went out witnessing.
I myself ran screaming from a few doors if I saw a wasp or wasps nearby because of my extreme fear of them. That was not an eccentricity as much as a psychological problem rooted in the fact that wasp stings are lethal to me and the territory had zillions of them. Anyone who hadn't been witnessing with me before or didn't know me was in for a shock if a wasp rushed me at the door.

Greedy, bumming pioneers..did U know any? LOL
by LyinEyes inwild turkey and his elder friend ( who is still in ) were talking about this last nite.
seems like most of the pioneers we knew in our area were moochers(sp?
) they would go to any means to save a penny,.

A pioneer couple with a couple of kids would invite jw friends out for coffee at the most expensive cafe in town then "forget" their wallets.

Could they walk any slower on the ministry(tm)?
by punkofnice ini was out in my car this saturday as i went to visit my friend.. i saw the jws scattered about mooching down the streets.. i arrived home in a different area to where my friend lives.
as i opened my door there was an invitation to the mock the christ ritual.
a group of jws mooched past my house, looked at me rather lethargically and carried on mooching along.. considering they don't know i'm an 'apostate(tm)', they certainly were in no hurry to beg me to come to their mock the christ charade considering that if i don't go jar-hoover will lovingly murder me soon (subject to overlapping(tm) ).. i know we had 'the pioneer walk(tm)' back in the day but puh-leeeeeeeze!

Anyone every been cut out of family pictures?
by love2Bworldly ini've been thinking about something lately that bothers me.
i mean it happened years ago, but it just seems really sick.
when i was disfellowshipped, my sister took all of her pictures that had me in it, cut me out and saved the rest of the pictures.

That is so pathetic! Totalitarian regimes cut the pictures of 'enemies of the people' away but not families!!
